Directions to the 

GREATER HARTFORD MODEL YACHT CLUB SAILING SITE

Our sailing site is located on the Mansfield Reservoir, in Mansfield Center, CT.

 The location is very easy to get to from any direction.

From the South;

   Take Interstate 95 to Interstate 395 north. In Norwich, CT take exit 81, which is Route 2 and 32 north. Follow Route 32 into Willimantic where you will take a right and cross over the new Thread City Bridge. You will recognize this when you see the very large frogs sitting on a spool of thread on each corner of the bridge. This will be about 20 minutes from Interstate 395.

  Cross over this bridge and continue straight through the next light. You are now on Route 195. From the time you cross the bridge you are exactly 3.5 miles from Bassett Bridge Road on the right. Continue straight through on 195, over route 6. There will be a light at the intersection where you take the right onto Bassett Bridge Road. Landmarks will be a small restaurant on the right and a small boat shop on the left.

  Continue down Bassett Bridge Road for 8/10 of a mile where you will come to a  on the right. This is right after a rise in the road where you cross over a small stone dam.  Go through the yellow gate down the narrow dirt road. At the first clearing take a hrd left following the lake to our site.

From the North;

    You can pick up Route 195 south right off of Interstate 84. Continue south on 195. When you come into Mansfield, start to look for Bassett Bridge Road on the left. There will be a light at the intersection where you take the left onto Bassett Bridge Road. Landmarks will be a small restaurant on the left and a small boat shop on the right.

  Continue down Bassett Bridge Road for 8/10 of a mile where you will come to a yellow gate on the right. This is right after a rise in the road where you cross over a small stone dam.  Go through the yellow gate down the narrow dirt road. At the first clearing take a hard left following the lake to our site.

From the East or West;

     Get on Route 6. Route 6 will turn into a four-lane highway in Willimantic. It is on this section of road that you want to get off the exit for Route 195. No matter which direction you are coming from, you will end up on the same access road that takes you to Rout 6. At the intersection of Route 6, take a left onto Route 6 north. You are about 1.7 miles from Bassett Bridge Road. There will be a light at the intersection where you take the left onto Bassett Bridge Road. Landmarks will be a small restaurant on the left and a small boat shop on the right.

  Continue down Bassett Bridge Road for 8/10 of a mile where you will come to a yellow gate on the right. At the first clearing take a hard left following the lake to our site.
