FIRST EVENT – OPEN REGATTA SATURDAY 8 APRIL – MANSFIELD HOLLOW SITE
It has been a long Winter, but now the racing comes fast. This Saturday we hope to get the cobwebs out of your brain. You will find out if your batteries need replacing. Being an open regatta, you can race whatever you want, you can change boats in mid regatta. We will award ribbons for top finishers. RD will be by our usual “take a turn as RD”. Reminder that our gate combo has changed to “1955”. None of the points gathered at this race will count towards any season standing. The forecast for Saturday says, cloudy, 55F, little rain in the morning, gusty winds 10-15. Not the best, but it beats having nothing.
2006 GHMYC FREQUENCY ASSIGNMENTS – SECOND PASS
Shown below is the updated frequency assignment matrix. Curiously, these freq assignments may eventually become a thing of the past. I recently purchased a Spektrum radio system that operates on 2.4 gHz frequency band. It has no crystals and no assigned freq. Each time the transmitter is turned on it searches for open frequencies within the band; the receiver then looks for the code that is unique to that transmitter and locks on that transmitted data. I tried out the system at the icebreaker and it worked fine, with 24 boats on the water including three Spektrum radios.
The members whose names show up in RED below have already paid their 2006 dues of $5. No, this is not a hint to pay up, just keeping a record. Nevertheless, you can pay your dues at the first event you attend. If you have already paid and you name is not in red, then I had a senior moment and we can fix that.
